Fountain Valley, Calif., March 17, 2009 — D-Link today announced it has won the 2008 PC Magazine Technical Excellence Award for its D-Link Green™ technology innovations. It is one of the highest honors bestowed for innovation in the computer/technology industry.

A winner in the Ecotech category, D-Link Green was among 15 finalists in the annual awards program. Winners were chosen by the magazine's editors and contributing writers from hundreds of products introduced last year.

Cited by PC Magazine as an example of "smart computing", it further noted that "often times it's the little innovations that make the biggest differences. Most people don't think about the power consumption of their modems and routers. Fortunately, D-Link has been worrying about it."

D-Link has just launched a new website, www.dlinkgreen.com, that outlines the company's Green initiatives, such as conserving energy, protecting the environment from harmful substances and reducing waste by using recyclable packaging. The site also provides an overview of D-Link Green technology that provides eco-friendly alternatives without compromising performance.

The magazine said D-Link's recently released line of Green products include two intelligent detection technologies to help reduce wasted power. "Products like the DGS-2205 detect when ports are inactive, adjusting power accordingly. These devices also can analyze the length of attached Ethernet cables and reduce transmission power."

"We're honored to receive this most prestigious award from PC Magazine, an established and undisputed authority on computing and Internet technology," said Steven Joe, President and CEO of D-Link Systems, Inc, the end-to-end network solutions provider for consumers and business worldwide.

PC Magazine presents its Technical Excellence Awards each year to companies and individuals that excel in creating new technologies, concepts and major advances in existing product categories.
