802.11g Wireless Standard.  Complying with the 802.11g WLAN standard, the DWL-G700AP provides speeds of up to 54Mbps when used with other 802.11g wireless products. Delivering throughput capable of handling heavy data payloads, this device is an ideal solution for bandwidth intensive applications. It is backward compatible with 802.11b wireless devices and provides seamless interoperability with the earlier standard equipment.

Multiple Operation Modes. The DWL-G700AP can be configured to operate in the AP or Repeater mode. In the AP mode, it acts as a base station, providing connectivity for the wireless computers.
In the repeater mode, the DWL-G700AP can increase the wireless signal range of a wireless router or another access point deployed in the same network. This operation mode is useful in large homes and buildings. The DWL-G700AP takes existing wireless signals and repeats them to enable wireless connectivity in the basement, patio, garage or any "dead spot" areas where the original wireless signal could not reach.

Advanced Network Security.  The DWL-G700AP supports 64/128-bit WEP data encryption and WPA/WPA2 security functions. For WPA with TKIP (Temporal Key Integrity Protocol) encryption, the DWL-G700AP supports personal (PSK) security when operating in the AP or Repeater mode, and enterprise (EAP) security when operating in the AP mode. For advanced WPA2 with AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) for authentication of 802.11 clients using server-side digital certificates, the DWL-G700AP supports PSK personal security in the AP and Repeater modes, and EAP enterprise security in the AP mode.  In addition to WEP and WP A/WPA2, the DWL-G700AP also provides MAC Address Filtering to control user access, and the Disable SSID Broadcast function to limit outsiders' access to the internal network.
