Description
24 Auto-sensing 10/100Mbps Ports
This standalone switch provides a maximum of 24 NWay ports that automatically negotiate between 10BASE-T and 100BASE-TX network speeds, as well as between full and half duplex modes. The available plug-in modules are :
l. 2 port 10/100Mbps board
2. 1 port 100BASE-FX board
3. 2 port 100BASE-FX board
4. 1 port Gigabit Ethernet board
Departmental Connection
The switch is a low-cost solution for departmental connection that can handle network speeds of up to 2000Mbps (full-duplex gigabit Ethernet) and provide high bandwidth to multiple workgroup segments. It can also provide dedicated full-duplex Fast Ethernet links to multiple server farms for bandwidth intensive client-server applications.
User-customizable Filters
With layer 2 switching capabilities in addition to dynamic filtering through auto-learned MAC addresses, the switch also supports static filtering, permitting the administrator to define custom filters to set up network security and implement explicit forwarding.
Industry-standard Management
SNMP agent permits the switch to be part of a larger network with configuration control and traffic monitoring. In addition, remote monitoring capability is built into every segment, allowing easy implementation of RMON. Built-in HTTP server provides an easy-to-use Web-based management interface through a standard web browser.
Broadcast Storm Protection
The administrator can select to forward or discard multicast packets on all or specific segments to flexibly control broadcast data and prevent unnecessary absorption of network bandwidth.
VLAN Support
With virtual LAN support, the administrator can enhance security and create logical workgroups regardless of the users’ physical locations. This permits mobile users to simply plug into any wall socket to access the network, while remaining part of their original groups within an organization’s structure.
