Wireless Switching 108 AG Dualband Access Point

Description

Overview
The DWL-7700AP wireless AG outdoor access point is a tri-mode  dualband wireless  device  conforming  to  IEEE 802.11  a/b/g  standards.  This  device  provides  dual  high Gain antennas covering a  large operating distance and is ideal for Internet Service Providers to create hot spot networks to provide outdoor users with wireless Internet access. It can also be installed at manufacturing plants, industrial locations, convention halls, school campuses, airports,  golf  courses,  marinas  and  other  outdoor venues.

Extended Wireless Coverage
The AirPremier  802.11a/g Outdoor AP/Bridge  is  an  ideal addition to businesses seeking to extend dualband wireless signal  coverage  over  a  variety  of  outdoor  scenarios. Hot  spot  operators  can  use  this  rugged  outdoor  access point to support and deliver 802.11a and 802.11g wireless connectivity to their customers -- whether they are out on the patio or deck, by  the  swimming pool,  in  the  terrace, or  on  the  golf  course.  By  offering  concurrent  dualband connectivity,  the  total aggregate bandwidth available on the network increases. Another  ideal  application  includes  bridging  together networks which  are  located  in  separate  buildings. With the  802.11a/g Outdoor AP/Bridge’  s  dualband  capability, network  administrators  can  bridge  the  networks  on  the 802.11a  band  while  simultaneously  providing  802.11g coverage for public wireless access.

Durable Outdoor AP/Bridge
Enclosed  in a die cast watertight housing and equipped with a built-in heater monitored by a temperature sensor, the  802.11a/g  Outdoor  AP/Bridge  is  designed  to  endure harsh outdoor conditions. For advanced installations, this Access Point has an integrated Power over Ethernet (PoE) port  that allows you  to  install  the device  in areas where power outlets are not readily available. Both antennas are detachable and can be replaced with higher gain ones for an improved wireless signal. Multiple Operation Modes In  addition  to  convenient  installation,  the  AirPremier 802.11a/g  Outdoor  AP/Bridge  can  be  confgured  to operate  in  any  of  three  modes:  Access  Point  (AP), Wireless  Distribution  System  (WDS)  with  AP,  or WDS (No AP Broadcasting). The AirPremier 802.11a/g Outdoor AP/Bridge  includes  advanced  features  such  as  load balancing that optimizes high network traffc volume and redundancy for fail-safe wireless connectivity.

Security
When  used  in  any  of  its  operating modes,  the  802.11a/g  Outdoor  AP/Bridge  provides  maximum  security  by supporting  WEP  (64/128/152-bit),  WPA,  WPA2,  MAC
Address Filtering, Wireless LAN segmentation, and Disable SSID Broadcast ensuring complete network protection.

Network Management
Network administrators can manage all the 802.11a/g Outdoor  AP/Bridge  settings  via  its  Web-based configuration  utility  or  with  Telnet.  For  advanced network management, administrators can use D-Link’s AP Manager  or  the  D-View  SNMP  v3 management module  to  configure  multiple  access  points  from a  single  location.  With  its  dualband  functionality, integrated  PoE  support,  extensive  manageability, versatile  operation  modes,  and  solid  security enhancements  all  in  one  box,  this  device  provides everything  network  administrators  need  to  extend  a robust wireless network to the great outdoors.
